Acceptable To God

"Therefore since we are God's offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone — an image made by man's design and skill. In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.  For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead (Acts 17:29-31)."

Being a living person is no accident; for when God created the heavens and earth mankind became the primary participant of God’s plan. God created mankind for his purposes and on completion of his plan there will be a Day of Judgment. A day when God makes up his treasured possession, a day when you will see a distinction made between those who serve God and those who do not (Malachi 3 17-18).

It will be a Day of Judgment for the purpose of giving rewards and recompense.  Christ the man who was found without sin; whose flesh did not see decay, who was raised from the grave and was chosen to judge the world, will be seated.  It will be a time set aside to administer justice when those who ignored the laws of God will receive their just due and when those who serve God will receive their reward, the crown of life.

In the past God overlooked such ignorance and he commanded everyone throughout the world to repent.  The greatest ignorance is in failing to look for the reason why life itself exists. Those who refuse to believe in God attempt to prove the existence of life through science. However they are confined to live in God’s creation and cannot create anything without using what God has already created.

On the other hand why is birth and death a part of life’s experience. While it is possible to prevent birth, man has not been able to eradicate death. Have we forgotten both birth and death is a normal part of life because you are a participant of God’s plan? For some the origin and purpose for life is something they have chosen to disregard and have closed their eyes to.

By the same token the things we close our eyes to are the very things that shape the magnitude of lacking facts on the matter. In other words some of our decisions require us to pay the piper even when it is to our detriment. God says my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children (Hosea 4:6).

It is impossible not to take notice of God for his presence is seen everywhere. Those who have chosen to ignore God have not ignored him entirely for they use his name in vain. This creates a double standard for if God doesn’t exist their use of cursing is worthless and senseless, but when God exists the piper has his hand out wanting his due.

Every person on earth is a participant of God’s plan. God says do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so (Amos 3:3)? The biggest problem is the lack of knowing that the gift of life is chosen by the individual person. Eternal life is a choice to agree with God to become his child and follow his fatherly discipline. When you accept God’s plan you become his child with citizenship in heaven.

By faith we continue to follow God’s plan through seeking his righteousness by finding out what pleases the Lord (Ephesians 5:10). In seeking what pleases the Lord you are not ignoring the law of your God just inquiring into what God expects of you. Because of this your children will not be ignored due to your example.

In addition your example leads others to the Lord and following the Lord gives you reason to reveal God’s plan to others. Life teaches that the magnitude of personal cost can be extremely shocking because of the knowledge we did not know. On the other hand what we learn gives us the right information to make informed decisions. What the average person doesn’t know will make a difference on Judgment Day.  For eternal life is a choice to know God and agree to walk with him. God says the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). The gift of God is eternal life and free for the asking. In seeking the primary definition of the word gift from the Greek it refers to a gratuity. A gratuity is a favor given in exchange for service and an act that is freely given by God. In other words eternal life is freely given in exchange for service to God. It is a reward given by God’s grace and is far better than lying down in torment (Isaiah 50:11) for refusing to serve.

It may sound cruel to those who do not think they need God but we live by the plans of those in authority every day and think nothing of it. For the most part, privileges regulated by those in authority are so desirable that we seek them to make life better for us. Among those things are theater tickets, driver’s license, groceries and almost everything else that make life pleasant. Those privileges are things we want but we have to agree with the plan of those who have what we want to get them.

The greatest right- the right to live forever falls under the authority of our creator. As man we have to recognize that there is only one creator of life, who is the Almighty God. Eternal life is a privilege that we have to ask for and agree with the terms given to us by our creator.

Repentance (forsaking evil) shapes the foundation for salvation for God says God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness" (2 Timothy 2:19). He must turn from evil to do good; he must seek peace and pursue it (1 Peter 3:11) in other words become a person who does no harm and who shares an mutual attitude to live in peace with one another.

God’s law is that mankind would love him with your entire being and to love one another as you love yourself. Yet to love demands a relationship of respect whether it is with God or another person. Love also shows a reverence for God and the respect for your fellow man. Remember every created person is in the same boat as we are and no matter what we have done during our life we don’t want to hear these words. 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers (Matthew 7:23)!

Knowing God’s will is not based on hope nor is it guess work for everything acceptable to God’s will is inspired and found in the pages of the Bible. Within the pages of the bible is God’s plan for mankind, everything God planned from your birth to the day Jesus welcomes you into his kingdom is planned for anyone who chooses to accept him and his plan. The bible invites you to taste and see that the Lord is good (Psalms 34:8). It is well worth the effort to find out what pleases the Lord only then you will be able to test and approve God's will.  06/01/2015
